My wondering pen

People, animals, buildings, all are fair game with a pen. This is a view in Topsham. A very peaceful little village in Devon. The architecture has a very Dutch flavour.

I pulled over to the side of the road and made this sketch. No pencil work or undersketch. Straight in with pen! Drawing directly with an ink pen forces you to be bold and make choices without fudging too much. It also means you can see the thought process of the artist as he explores, makes choices and changes his mind. I find it soulful and "un-computer like"!
