The Journal of Edwin Carp-The Beginnings

After years of working on other people’s films it was time to break out on my own. I had read a book illustrated by my favourite illustrator Ronald Searle called The Journal of Edwin Carp so I decided to board out an idea. It had elements of Mr Bean, Monty Python and Some Mother’s Do ‘Ave ‘Em. The only question was how was I going to get it made? Also after doing so many films with zany "in your face" humour I wanted to do something with a bit more charm even if it was against the trend.
